Art & Illustration
You can ask anyone who knows me, this whole career path of mine started very early on in my life. I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. From preschool through high school, I excelled in art. I even graduated with honors and scholarships in high school. I've always had a passion for everything related to art...from pencils to pixels! Below are some examples of only a small portion of the art and illustration I have done in recent years.
Logo Designs:
 |
Logos are the essential element to giving a company and/or brand their identity. It is so important, that some companies have literally paid millions of dollars for a logo. Some of the most biggest brands in history rely on their logo to make them recognizable. People all around the world are familiar with brands like Coke, Pepsi, Nike, Apple, Ford, Chevy, IBM, Motorola, Disney, Fox, McDonalds, etc. Their logos give them this identity. I find logo design to be very challenging, yet fun. I have designed a TON of logos. So rather than filling up this entire section with logos and their explanations, I have put them into one image. Simply click on the image at the left or click here to see them.

Digital Illustrations:

Turner Mountain Bikes
I did these illustrations for the new bike frames featured in the 2004 Turner Mountain Bike Catalog. I was given the actual frames, then I drew them in Adobe Illustrator. There were a total of six different frame designs.

 |
Tiger on the Prowl
This was one of the first illustrations I did using Adobe Illustrator. I basically did this to teach myself how to use the software...back in 1993!

Warrior Appreciation As Vice President of the North County Warriors Support organization, I ended up doing most of the graphics and web design. It gives me great pleasure to donate the work to a worthy cause. This is an illustration I did for some tee-shirts we had made. They were for a hot rod cruise we recently held in appreciation of our soldiers.

Planet Rascals
As I've mentioned before, Planet Rascals was a huge project. I developed all eight of the characters and illustrated the entire world that was seen on the six CD-ROMs. One would have to view all six of the discs to really appreciate all the work I put into them. It was quite the undertaking!

 |
Insect Island At Interaction Publishers Inc. (Interact), I designed many of the book covers and illustrations. As a general rule. all of the book covers were solid black and white with no gray shading. While slightly challenging, I figured out ways to add depth and it was actually quite fun. This is one I did for the "Insect Island" book.

 |
Roberto's Rainforest
This is the cover I designed for "Roberto's Rainforest". Like all Interact covers, it had to be solid black and white. I used positive and negative space to create an Iguana with trees in the background.
|
 |
Hopscotch Math
This book had fun ways to teach kids math. For the cover of "Hopscotch Math", I illustrated a little girl playing hopscotch. Once again, I used positive and negative space.
|
 |
New Atlantis
This is the cover I designed for "New Atlantis". This simulation has children design submarines and underwater cities. I would have had fun with that one as a kid!

Other Artwork:
 |
Bald Eagle
This is a marker drawing I did recently. I have fun doing pieces like this. I just wish I had time to do it more often. I find drawing to be very relaxing. It helps get my mind off day-to-day drama.

Fran
Yeah, I know...she's the chick with the annoying voice from that TV show in the mid-nineties. This is a Marker Comp I did back in college. My wife, Krista, likes it.

Jackie -n- Spunky
These are our two kids. This is a pencil drawing I did of them when they were a year old. I plan to get this tattooed on me. These two dogs have brought more joy to our hearts than you could ever imagine. Sadly, Spunky (on the left) was diagnosed with Cancer a few months ago. Poor little "Monkey". It's only a matter of time...

Picasso
This is a pencil drawing I did of Picasso that was featured in one of the Interact publications. I used a black and white photo as a reference.
